"Ex-Lover's Tongue" serves as the culminating work of chapter one and marks the end of a transformational journey, that ultimately led CAT to the art world. A quieting of the demons from her past, and a turning point in her life. This painting symbolizes the breaking of the cycle of violence that she had experienced, and the release of pent-up anger and hurt. The work depicts an aggressive portrait, a sharp and bloodthirsty blade attacking her, evoking an energy of dark beauty and explosive force, in a tempest of emotion.
Broken, and in her darkest moment, allowed her eyes to open widest. And only then, could she see the light forward. It ignited within her an extraordinary, self-sustaining energy, allowing a rebirth, full of life. A tumultuous explosion of both beginnings and endings, marking a new chapter in CAT's quest to create her own world, and reshape her life in her own image. It was the day she began her second series, penning title, “Healing Journey”.
